Crossword #6: Mystery Word Game
I have been asked to narrow down my theme density from last time, so this puzzle uses only 127 squares as theme material instead of last puzzle's 46. It's a 17x17 grid, so I think it's about equivalent.

Hi Gizmo,
ReplyDeleteI maintain the Redstone Crossword Puzzle for mobile platforms (iOS/Android).
I’d be happy to feature some of your puzzles in my app and pay for them. The puzzles need not be exclusive to my app (you could bundle puzzles that you’ve previously published on your website, etc.)
I’m currently working in collaboration with many constructors you probably know (Brendan Emmett Quigley, Will Nediger, Fred Piscop, Mark McClain, Andrew Ries, Brad Wilber, Robin Stears, Bonnie L. Gentry, Frank Virzi, Paolo Pasco, Ross Trudeau, Matthew Stock, David Alfred Bywaters, Jessica Goldstein, Myles Mellor, Richard Allen, Dave Diebold, David Gold, Adam Nicolle, Patricia Wells, Larry Harrington, Rob Gonsalves & Jennifer Lim, May Huang & Kevin Trickey, Greg Johnson, Steve Faiella, Steve Mossberg, Trent H. Evans, Brian Gubin, Jon Dunbar, among others)
In case you’d like to see my app, here are the download links:
– iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-store/id957848865?mt=8
– Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.redstonegames.crossword.en
Please let me know if you’re interested, and I can provide more information about the puzzles.
Eduardo
Hi Eduardo,
DeleteI'm familiar with the Redstone Crosswords app (I use it already). I'm not sure if you've solved my puzzles or not, but they are so... unconventional (read: bad) that I sincerely doubt a human read my blog, solved a few puzzles and said "Hey, let's publish these".
I think it's more likely that you're a bot, and just about everyone with a crossword blog gets one of these from you.
If you're a real person, and you seriously want to publish these ridiculous, terrible crosswords, then please reply back. Of course I'd be happy to contribute.

Hi Gizmo,
DeleteThanks for your reply.
I am not a bot, and I'm sorry if the message offended you, it's actually a standard message and we didn't write multiple fancy versions using tools like Chat GPT. Most constructors are aware of the app and the blog posts in the community, and started working in collaboration with us, either by providing the published puzzles or creating new ones.
If you don't trust us and think your puzzles are terrible, we can skip this for a while, but doors will be open in case you change your mind in the future.
Best,
Eduardo
Eduardo,
DeleteNo offense taken, of course. I think it's best my crosswords aren't published in the mainstream for now, but I appreciate the opportunity and I'd be happy to talk to you about it in the future.
Thanks,
Gizmo
